She’s a first-time mom navigating pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum
recovery—with her baby, James Ellis, by her side.

Why Melanie?
She was born out of the classroom—literally! I used to dress up as a
pregnant woman to bring OB concepts to life for my students. Melanie was
my alter ego, and now she’s yours too. Her journey is filled with teaching
moments, tough decisions, and opportunities to learn in a way that’s
engaging, relatable, and human.
